I hate people who can start a conversation with anyone, at any time.
How can they speak so easily?
How can they trust so easily?
Don't they know how ruthless humans are? These beasts will use any confided secret, any heartfelt wish, or any true desire; turning it against you with such force that your heart will be ripped apart. An innocent laugh is soon warped into a mocking jeer; a compliment becomes a sarcastic jibe.
This is the truth of my world, an endless line of betrayal and deceit.
Nothing is safe unless you close yourself off to them. Be untouchable and enigmatic.
I was so proud of my distance, thinking I could never get hurt again. Nothing left to betray, no feelings left to shred.
